The sense of being at home in your body is your birthright. In these stressful times, however, many people's experience of their body is one of pain, fatigue, and general unease. Used together, Rolfing and Somatic Experiencing provide a profound path to move through pain and restriction and return to feeling at ease and "at home" in the body.
Rolfing Structural Integration, developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, is a hands-on therapy that works with a person's whole body and field of experience to release restrictive patterns in the connective tissue that are the result of injuries, repetitive motion, trauma and habitual holding; restoring a sense of embodiment and well being.
Somatic Experiencing, developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine, is a sensation and mindfulness based trauma therapy that works with the body's natural physiology to discharge stored trauma and restore nervous system regulation.
Heather Wright is a Certified Rolfer trained at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner trained at the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute in Boulder, Colorado. She has received specialized trainings on Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, chronic pain, and the prevention of medical trauma. An authorized meditation instructor, Heather offers interested clients body-based meditation practices from several traditions that help integrate the results of Rolfing and Somatic Experiencing into daily life.

"Heather Wright is a skillful and genuine professional body worker whose care and attention helped me rediscover balance and grace. Through the course of our Ten Series, Heather guided me through the process and gave me expert tips on how to release tension and reintegrate my life activities and body. She is sensitive, respectful of boundaries, honest, generous, intelligent, warmhearted and grounded...critical traits for someone in the healing professions. I cannot speak highly enough of the value and trust I experienced in all ten sessions."
